While I was in Europe this Summer, I spent the majority of my time trying to adopt various cultural aspects of the people around me. One of the biggest influences Europeans had on me was, of course, style. Although I only had the opportunity to visit two different countries (Italy and Holland), there was definitely a consensus in the various different cities I visited on what was popular for an everyday get up: Sportswear.
I noticed that the majority of people I saw, regardless of age or gender, made style choices based around various articles of clothing you would typically see in a sporting event: namely, jerseys, sneakers, and track jackets. My theory for the overwhelming popularity of this trend is their fervent zeal for soccer and the fact that most Europeans walk EVERYWHERE, hence comfortable shoes are a necessity. To put a fashionable and personal spin on their sporty clothing, intensely bright colors and crazy prints were often paired with a characteristically European pair of distressed denim.
Lately I’ve been rocking several variations of this look, while putting my own spin on it. I have to say that I’ve been in LOVE with this trend and frankly, the comfort factor is definitely a plus. Check out my take on Euro Sportswear Below!
